Sustainable Swaps To Consider

Sustainable Swaps To Consider

Over the last few years I’ve tried to implement more sustainable items into my everyday life. These are some easy changes you can make that will not only save you money in the long run, but also help save our planet.

You may not even realize it, but the amount of plastic we use on a day to day basis that ends up being thrown away is shocking! So many times this plastic ends up in our oceans and causes harm and even death to many sea creatures that we all love.

If you live near a Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods, they sell both reusable shopping bags and mesh produce bags. They also both offer perks to shoppers who provide their own bags - Trader Joe’s allows you to enter a weekly raffle that they do for gift cards, and Whole Foods gives you money back per bag you provide. I’ve listed below some of the items I have found to help reduce my carbon footprint and thought I would share in the hope that you can maybe discover new ways to do the same!

  1. Glass straws instead of plastic one use straws.

  2. Reusable Grocery Bags

  3. Glass Tupperware

  4. Stainless steel water bottle

  5. Washable cotton rounds

  6. Mesh reusable produce bags

  7. Reusable coffee mug

  8. Reusable silicone storage bags
