Activewear Brands I'm Loving
At the beginning of each year, we usually find ourselves making a list of resolutions or goals we want to accomplish - one of the most common goals being our physical health. Whether you put on unwanted pounds during the holidays or just want to feel better about your overall health/appearance, getting yourself on a consistent routine can sometimes be the hardest part. Even I am guilty of falling off track within a few weeks/months into the year. Something that has helped me feel more motivated are good staple athleisure items in my closet. As the saying goes “When you look good, you feel good and when you feel good you do good!”
The items that will work best will depend on the type of workout you’re doing. For example, when Fred and I bike to the beach on the weekends I prefer to wear bike shorts. I’ve tried several brands but find myself reaching for these Aerie ones the most. I love the lightweight moisture wicking material - the wrap detail is flattering on all shapes/sizes. Don't forget a hat when you will be out in the sun! Another item I’ve found from Aerie that I love is this strappy back sports bra.
Leggings: Athleta Tank: Lululemon Sneakers: Nike
I recently bought a pair of Athleta leggings when they were on sale and have been really enjoying them! Their website was great at helping me choose the correct size since I had never purchased anything from them before. I was happy that they suggested that I order a “long” because I do find that some leggings tend to run short on me. For reference, I am 5 foot 9 inches and these leggings hit me right at my ankle.
My most worn sneakers are by far these three. Adidas NMD R1, Reebok classic sneakers and Nike Revolution Running shoe. The Nike sneakers are best for running or other high impact cardio because they have great cushion and support for your feet. On the contrary, the Adidas ones are better for low impact days. These sneakers are super lightweight and hug your feet well. I wore them on a recent trip to Disney and they were great for a day of walking around the parks. The Reeboks are great for leg day at the gym, or even to style with an athleisure look to run errands. Since they are all white, they literally go with anything & everything!
While I can say that ordering things from Amazon can be the cheaper route when it comes to workout clothes, I have to admit I’ve had my fair share of sizing mishaps. One item that was a total hit for me was this tank top. It comes in so many colors and has over 9,000 4-star reviews!!! The tie detail on the back allows you to decide how loose or tight you want the top to be for ultimate comfort. However, I recently saw other bloggers posting on Instagram about a pair of Gym Shark dupe leggings so I ordered them, but I will say, the sizing was off for me. I personally love my Gym Shark vital seamless leggings so much that I’ve repurchased them in several colors.

Last, but certainly not least is, Zella. I first discovered their leggings a few years back during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and since then I’ve purchased a new pair every year. I love the buttery texture of these leggings and also the amount of compression around your waist/hips. These are perfect for yoga, biking, the gym or even just running errands! Last year during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I bought this sports bra and it just solidified my love for this brand. The coverage on this bra is moderate and I love that because it comes down over my rib cage I can pair it with leggings alone for yoga class and don’t feel like I’m showing too much skin.
