5 Ways to Style a Faux Leather Jacket

5 Ways to Style a Faux Leather Jacket

Since this BlankNYC faux leather moto jacket was one of the most shopped items that I shared from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I thought y’all might like to see some of my favorite ways to style it for some Fall outfit inspiration. It’s honestly such a versatile piece that can be worn day to night, on the casual side, or even a little dressed up! In today’s post I’ll show you 5 different ways I love to wear it, although there are many more than five!

First up is more of a dressier way to style the jacket. I’ve paired it with this suede mini skirt, black long sleeve scoop neck bodysuit and suede over the knee boots. I love to mix different materials like suede and faux leather in the fall/winter months. This outfit would be perfect for a date night in my opinion.

Next up we have a super fun way to style the faux leather jacket - with a graphic tee, leopard print midi skirt and white sneakers. Wearing sneakers with skirts has become one of my go-to looks because it’s the perfect balance of cute and comfort!

This look is definitely the most casual of the five, but just might be my favorite way to style the jacket. The other most sought after item during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale were these Spanx faux leather leggings. Now you might be thinking, Sarah! Faux leather leggings and a faux leather jacket? Isn’t that a little too much faux leather at one time? I would answer absolutely not, but again this is how I love to style the jacket, you do you, girlfriend! Lol! Paired with the leggings, I’m wearing this long sleeve shirt from BP. It’s lightweight - which is great for layering in the cooler months and also super affordable! These Nike sneakers I’ve had for years and aren’t available anymore, but I did link a few others that are similar. You can find me wearing this during my weekly (or sometimes daily) Trader Joe’s or Target runs.

Y’all know it wouldn’t be a style guide if I didn’t include at-least one look with a wool Fedora and some booties! These Steve Madden snakeskin booties have to be my favorite recent shoe purchase. This look can be achieved with distressed denim like I’m wearing here, or even a non-distressed if they’re not your thing. Especially for my working gals - I know the distressed look is frowned upon in the work place. Under the jacket is a short sleeved puff sleeve sweater. I love this style because it can be worn from the office on Friday straight to happy hour!

Last but certainly not least, we have black denim and a white v-neck tee! Two staple items for your closest, no matter the season - in my opinion. I added these leopard print flats to give it a little pizazz (because y’all know I’m extra like that) but you can certainly wear this look with black flats, sneakers or even booties! Also, I know I’m here to talk about this faux leather jacket, but can we have a moment for these KUT from the Kloth jeans? I recently discovered this brand and need to brag about them. They feel like leggings (with LOTS of stretch) but are actually denim! Adding this white crossbody bag makes this look another one that’s great for day into night.

I’m very excited to be getting back into fashion inspiration/style guide posts because this truly is my passion! For as long as I can remember Fashion has always been such a fun and creative outlet. (I’m pretty sure I also have my genetics from my Grandma Betty to thank as well.)

Let me know in the comments below which style was your favorite. I would also love to see how you style your faux leather moto jacket on Instagram so please tag me @TheGlobalSojourner.
